It's bonfire night Sunday night in the U.K. and it reminded me of the one time I went to a bonfire party on the beach. There I met this woman. She introduced herself by saying, "Hi, my name's Jaydalyn I'm a witch” She wasn't wearing a costume, she wasn't joking, she was a witch.
I didn't know what to say.
What could I say?
My name is Spring.
I'm a Christian.
My people used to burn your people at the stake!
So nice to meet you!
I just love bonfires, don’t you?
You just can't beat the smell of burning books
Know what I mean?"
I’m Spring Day (real name, hippie parents)
Moving back to the United States after having lived in Japan and traveling the world for 16 years has been a bit of a head fuck, especially since I now work in the U.K. My blog “The United States of Shock!” is where I give my brilliant and bitter two cents, pence, yen and euro on my experience with culture shock and current events. If you have any questions you would like to have answered in a snit, email them to firstname.lastname@example.org
